Hails from: I’m from Pinole, CA, about 20 minutes from Berkeley and 30 from San Francisco! Pinole is named after a Mexican grain/nut that was traditionally ground up to make masa instead of flour.
Activities: I am a fan of playing my alto saxophone, hiking, and cooking for my partner. I really enjoy learning new recipes and am excited to learn about the Seattle community when businesses open up to full capacity.
Degrees: Bachelor of Arts
Favorite nonprofit: Sustainable Seattle, not only because I’m serving on the board, but because I truly believe the work happening there is monumental. The goal of Sustainable Seattle is to empower other nonprofits to build capacity around the work they’re doing, which is where I’ve been able to meet some truly amazing community leaders.
Volunteer work: I volunteer with various mutual aid organizations, namely, Black Star Farmers and Food not Bombs. I also am volunteering on two King County political campaigns to help elect new people in office.
