The solar=powered car known as the Solar Taxi appeared on the streets of Seattle over Fourth of July weekend, showcasing a Swiss schoolteacher’s dream of renewable energy.

The stop is just one small step on the 50,000-mile, 40-country and five-continent tour being undertaken without the use of fossil fuels. The project is the brainchild of Luis Palmer who, while understanding that a single person can’t solve the climate crisis, has dedicated himself to putting together a high visibility project that will inspire people to think critically about their habits and how they can make a difference.
