Our Solar Equipment Replacement Process

Transcript

With your photovoltaic system, there aren’t a whole lot of moving parts, and there’s not a lot of things to fail.

Typically the PV modules are going to be the most robust part of your system. There are modules out there that have been performing since the ’70s, so we don’t see a whole lot of failures there.

The inverter would be the failure point of the system if there were to be something that were to be something that was going to break. We have processes in place to get you back up and running as quickly as possible. We would need to come out on site and diagnosis the system while working with the manufacturer of the inverter.

The inverter manufacturer will then issue an RMA or a Return Merchandise Authorization. When they issue that, they’re going to send us a replacement product and then we can come back out and swap out that product and get you back up and running. Typically that’s going to take about two weeks depending on equipment availability.

We do have our performance guarantee in case things take longer than expected. So when you have lost production like that, we’re going to be able to compensate you for that at the end of the year for anything that was lost during the equipment malfunction.

At the end of the day, an inverter is a big computer and there’s a lot of moving parts in there, so failures can happen. Typically, we’re trying to select products that have a better track record, but there are still some products out there that we may see some failures with. But we’ll get you back up and running as quickly as possible.
