Frequently Asked Questions

How much does residential solar cost?

Pricing depends on your roof, energy use, and equipment. We’ll model production, incentives, and lifetime savings so you can decide with data.

Incentive availability is always evolving on a federal, state and utility level. contact us today to learn about current incentive available in your area.

Net metering is a balance of your energy consumption and solar production. When you produce more energy from solar than your home consumes, your net meter spins backwards and applies ‘credits’ to your utility account. Then, when your home is consuming more power than the system is producing, you use those credits from your account

Without a battery, solar will not work during a power outage. National Electric Code requires grid-tied solar systems to shut down automatically to protect utility line workers. Adding a battery allows you to power your home during outages and use stored energy at night.

After signing with A&R Solar, installation typically takes a few weeks to a few months, depending on permitting and utility approval timelines. We handle all the paperwork and work to move your project forward as quickly as possible.

Solar is low maintenance — not no maintenance. We encourage you to monitor your system regularly through the provided monitoring app. Our dedicated service team is here to answer any questions you may have for the lifetime of your system

Panels typically 25+ years for power output; other components vary. A&R adds 10‑year workmanship and labor coverage.

Your system is sized specifically for Northwest weather patterns, accounting for lower production in winter and higher production in summer. You’ll still generate meaningful energy year-round, and net metering credits from sunnier months help offset lower-production periods.
