Google has a fun little tool called “Trends.”
It’s essentially a record of the number of searches people are making of a certain keyword over time. So what did I search for? “Solar” of course. And it seems like the US is 6th in the world when it comes to interest in what solar can do for us. Check the Google Trend for “solar” for yourself by clicking here.
I can understand why Australia might be at the top of the list, but Portugal is second? Much of Portugal only gets 15 percent more energy from the sun than we do here in Western Washington, or equivalent energy as does Eastern Washington. Should Washington State look to the Portuguese incentives for inspiration or is there something else going on?
